(International) Why don’t other distributors talk about international taxes?

Note: DPM Network Music Distribution is not a legal or tax authority. We do not give legal or tax advice. DPM Network Music Distribution simply reports and provides information as per what we’ve been instructed to. Please consult a tax professional or legal authority for advice and direction.

If a distribution company isn’t as knowledgeable about taxes nor has a resource as extensive as ours to answer as many questions as possible then you should likely feel uncomfortable dealing with a company who doesn’t have much education on the matter of your income and taxes. There is no exception to tax rules and regulations. If a USA based distributor says that you shouldn’t worry about taxes from international countries or if you are based internationally and a distributor from the USA says that you don’t have to worry about taxes, they have no idea what they are talking about. We take this matter seriously and thus why we write the answer to this question in a stern manner. We’ve seen too many bad situations occur and implore on you to read our extensive knowledge base to understand. Lastly, it would be in your best interest to consult with an accountant or seek legal advice for further questions and/or feel free to discuss with us and we can accommodate a transfer to us where you can be sure that international tax and accounting questions can be answered.
